Introducing the Shuttle™ -86°C ULT Freezer
Portable, Shippable, AC/DC Operation
New Product Advisory
We are pleased to introduce an upgrade to the original Stirling Shuttle™ ULT-25 to the Stirling Shuttle™ ULT-25N. Improvements include elimination of the external power block, addition of a new internal AC power connector, new lockable DC power connector and a quieter fan. All cabinet dimensions remain the same. Net weight, empty, has increased to from 40 lbs to 42 lbs (19 kg). For information click Specifications.
Stirling Ultracold has introduced the Shuttle™, a portable, shippable -86°C ultra-low freezer developed for personal or mobile applications. The Shuttle™ offers reliable, energy-efficient storage for cold-chain management, short-term or long-term ultra-low storage and secure mobile transport of high-value vaccines or biological specimens.
The Shuttle™ is ideal for use within biorepositories, in medical/surgical suites, pathology laboratories, tissue banks, regenerative medicine, and in other applications associated with clinical or diagnostic medicine, medical research and pharmaceutical distribution.
For personal desktop use, benchtop or mobile applications on land, sea or in the air.
-
Because it doesn't use dry ice or LN2, there is no need for replenishment, ever. It doesn't generate potentially hazardous CO2 vapors. You don't need a HAZMAT certification to drive it around.
-
Traveling nurses and clinical trial administrators can manage cold chain custody from door to door to assure the integrity of pharmaceuticals and minimize loss or liability.
-
When disaster strikes, humanitarian relief workers can depend on the efficacy of vaccines and medicines shipped directly from the pharmaceutical company, anywhere in the world.
Benefits
The Shuttle™ creates -86°C deep cold temperatures enabled through a proprietary free-piston Stirling engine technology that uses a micro-fluid cooling media to eliminate conventional refrigeration or cascade compressor systems.
-
The Shuttle™ is lightweight and easily transported, designed to operate on both AC and DC power at both 60Hz and 50Hz electrical systems.
-
Quiet and energy-efficient (150 watts maximum) it can be placed on a desktop or on a lab bench or cart in laboratories or operating rooms, and is easily transferred to vehicles, aircraft, remote and disaster locations.
-
The Shuttle™ operates independently for up to two hours when connected to an optional uninterruptible power supply (UPS), and can operate from a standard car or truck battery supply through the vehicle DC power adapter supplied with the unit.
-
The Shuttle™ is expected to be used in rural or third-world countries where power and dry-ice infrastructure is not well established.
-
Because the Shuttle™ establishes highly uniform temperature without the use of dry ice, it sustains viability and portal-to-portal cold chain custody; when used with an optional temperature logging flash device the Shuttle™ helps assure FDA21CFR compliance for managing local, regional or worldwide pharmaceutical distribution in clinical trials.
Other uses include:
-
Pharmaceutical distribution, drug trials, cold chain management
